“We saw a lot of bold, rich colors and wild fabrics during fashion week, and I loved how they were styled on the runway,” says actress and hospitality heiress Alessandra Balazs. “There was an element of simplicity that allowed the individual pieces and their structured shapes to speak for themselves.”

The pieces Balazs is referring to—iridescent lamé gowns that shimmer like the tail of a mermaid, body-skimming pastel dresses, tiered taffeta pouf skirts, and futuristic high-shine jackets—certainly stood out on the catwalk. And, despite their mega-watt brilliance and statement-making appearance, they’re actually surprisingly easy to wear IRL.
